Hey gang,

I've been using an API master test kit for a while and recently purchased a Salifert Strontium test kit. The API calcium test showed me at 500 where as the Salifert Strontium test which also test calcium showed I was at 450. Which one should I trust?

Thanks,

Mike

Salifert. I've tried a number of different API Nitrate test kits and they have never registered any nitrates while Salifert does (and this was knowing my nitrates were up).

I don't trust any API test kits for this reason.

For calcium, nitrates and phosphates API is about the worst kit you can get.

Salifert is the best for salterwater! I have used API for freshwater for years, its seems to work better for freshwater than salt. Tim @Aquarium Smith

What's up Tim!! :)

Let me know when you get some more Seachem Matrix in. I'll come and pick it up.

From what I've heard, these are some of the best you can get. The only reason I go with Salifert is that I don't need something quite as accurate as Elos and don't want to pay that much.

Same here..

Used Salifert since I've started in the hobby. Tried API and Elos once...will never buy them again.

They are a bit "proud" of there products in terms of price but I have so far tried API, Safealert, and Seachem

Not trying to be a spokes person for elos or anything but I "love" the ease of use compared to the other kits. Some of the other kits had big margin for error due to user error. The thing I like about the elos is its very simple
