Okay, so I've had 3 fish go missing in the last few days -- one bangaii cardinal and two little chromis. And when I say "missing," I mean there is no sign of them anywhere. None. And one of the chromis just</em> went missing. I can't find any sign of him anywhere. He's not in the overflow, not caught in the Vortech, nothing.

I have an RBTA. Do anemones eat fish like that?

My chromis don't hang out in the rock work. Even if they did, wouldn't they eventually come out?

Not if they have expired. Did you look for carpet surfers? I have heard people say they have seen an anemone eat a fish but I believe it would be very rare. I know they eat silversides if given to them but they are not swimming at that point. :-).

Great. If I have to sacrifice another virgin, my wife is totally going to make me break this thing down.

Biting my tongue. Not going to say what is running through my mind. LOL

WOW, do you have a sally light foot crab or something? I have had several fish disappear for a few days and then reappear out of nowhere. Let's hope it's as simple as that...

Alright, found the latest guy fading away quickly under some rock. Swimming and eating great since I got him, but now not so much :( I'm going to assume that's what happened to the other guys as well.

While I keep an eye out for krakens.

Have you tested the water? Any signs of parasites? Three fish in a short time is not normal.

It's probably pretty normal if a) they've only been around a few days and b) you remembered to acclimate them for temperature but not for salinity, etc.

[hangs head in shame]

Your mind went there too?:D Shane, you guys seem like normal people. We had no idea you had a "room" set up. :D Just messing with ya man.
In regard to your situation. I have had 2 fish disappear on me as well. No body, no bones...big notta! One Cleaner Wrasse, and my lovely Green Mandarin.
I have aquascaped twice since then with still no clue. Like you, i did have an Anemone at that time.

It's always the normal people you have to worry about :1zhelp:

Yep. Added several at one time. The cardinal I kind of expected to go. He hadn't been eating. The chromis were eating like freakin chumming sharks, though. They were mad men.

Yup, I think you know what went wrong. Sorry man. I hate it for you. Always bites loosing fish. Boy how I know that one.

Just glad it's the first time I've forgotten to do it.

[hangs head]

No it's not.

[cries]

Don't beat yourself up. It happens to all of us. Ask me about the gorgeous trigger Kris gave me that lasted two day. :-(. Bad enough if you buy a fish but when someone GIVES you a $150 fish..... Well you understand.

My 2 Chromis, Jack n Jill, well now down to one, just Jill. I believe Jack was chased by a Domino Damsel. To the point he said, "i am out of here" girls came running upstairs telling me one of the fish were on the floor. I was bummed. I did catch that Domino bugger the other night though. Both are now in the sump. They WILL not be going in the new DT.:D
