Looking for suggestions on what types of corals to start placing on my rock work. The anemone that was sitting right in the middle finally walked off, so I’d like to start placing things and allowing them to fill in. I’ll be keeping the mushrooms and hammers on the sandbed or rocks they are attached to on their own.

Maybe torches across the top part, not sure what to place on the “peninsula” part sticking out. I was thinking of trying sticks again on the tiny little platform on the right.

This is the side view from where I sit at my desk. Macros will eventually be secured in the back, right corner whenever I get around to it.

Something that grows upward like like montipora digitata and birdnest would be nice addition~

Is that a torch or a nem up on the back wall? If it's a nem and it goes in the powerhead worrying, about coral placement will be the least of your worries.

Get a basket you can clip on the upper wall of the tank to isolate it and keep it from wandering while you contemplate what you want to do with it.

It’s a nem, and I’ve been keeping an eye on it. It’s no where near the power head currently. If it fully moves onto that glass from the corner then I’ll be pulling it and putting it into my “frag” tank.

I like the torch on the top idea. Maybe something encrusting on the bottom half and maybe a cabbage leather in the middle. IDK, I would focus on color and fit the most. I try to avoid a lot of one color and putting things thst will hurt others near by. .02

Okay, I know this is an unrelated question, but it ties in to something you mentioned in your post. How do you plan to secure the macro algae? I have a pretty good sized bunch of the same type, unsecured (kinda stuck into the sand), and I keep having pieces float off and drift around the tank, doing their own thing.

I have some pieces they are shoved into rock that are holding fine. Others I’ve rubber-banded to rocks. Fishing line would also work.

Granted, I don't know much lol, so I don't know if it will work. What about some zoas or encrusting type of coral in "A", with a plating coral at "B", just above the sand so it won't shade out other coral. Like I said, I don't know about specific types or if they will work in those areas. Just ideas to play with
