I've got this opaque green algae in my tank that resembles hammer coral. Looms like fetticinne but green and only grows on the powerheads and very top of tank. Any help without a pic?

Definitely a nuisance algae, check your parameters. Is this a fairly new tank?

Might consider backing off the amount you feed. Waterchange, manual removal....

seems to thick to be hair algae. I change 10 gallons on my 72 twice a week using salinity. keep my 8 bulb t5 on 6-8 hrs a day, keep salinity at 1.025. Have maybe 100-150lbs lr. I keep carbon and phosgaurd in my sump. How often are u suppose to change those bags??

Edit: also i only feed around half a cube of mysis daily...

look up some stuff called maidens hair, I have it and it is impos to get rid of, catch it early and you will be ok, let it ride and it will really screw you up. I'm not sure which you are refering to here. I don't think its the one you are talking about but I think i see some more on the front of the power head. Check and make sure about that because if it gets a foothold it turns into a stanglehold.

Not sure what the "hammer" looking stuff is
