New to the forums I went to buy some live rock from a guy today and he told me about you guys. Just wanting to introduce myself and say that i just set up my 29 gallon i have 35 lbs of live rock and will be ready to get my clean up crew in a week anyone got any CUC they are selling?

If this is in the wrong place sorry

Hello, and welcome to the forums! Good luck w/ your tank- you'll soon find that it's very addictive! What kind of tank do you hope to set up? If you want to do a fish-only (FOWLR) I could give you a couple of zebra hermits- no charge.

:welcome: Welcome to the ARC! We're glad to have you on board!:welcome:

Post some pics of your new tank... we're all picture junkies around here :)

Hey, Yeah that would be great I am doing a FOWLR i used to havea 55 gallon FOWLR but i moved and took it down and now it has 2 pacus and 2 silver tip sharks so i got this 30 to do a saltwater.

I live in fayetteville so if you want to ship or are we close enough for me to pick up the hermits? are you sure no charge?

Sure, no charge, but you'll have to pick them up. I live in Sugar Hill, off hwy. 20. Shoot me a PM to work out the details.

Welcome aboard and feel free to start asking the questions and diving into the discussions.

Fishy has the best prices on cleanup crews these days and I believe you get a discount on those if you are an ARC member.

thanks for all the help guys and i will try to get that cleanup crew. How many days should i wait until i get my clean up crew i just got my live rock in today but keep in mind it came from an already set up tank so all the rock already has algae all over it.

thanks guys

I definately agree with Cameron. Just because it was from another tank doesn't mean it is a "jump right into it". The LR has to seed the rest of the tank to establish full biological filtration. Also you should always test to be exactly sure what is going on. If you left the LR out of the water too long there could be some die off.

Before you stop listening to me, I am not saying you are doing anything wrong. I only want to convey the message (that I am sure no one here will go against me on) which is GO SLOWLY. That is to say, start with the tank and the LR and LS. Get to know what all critters came along with it. Once all the levels equalize, add a few corals or a fish. Be sure to research research research. If you read up on here and ask questions and also take your time, you will do just fine :).

Great to have you on the ARC. Definantly talk to Stevhan at Fishy Business. Super nice guy and incredible prices. He'll hook you up with whatever you need. Let him know what kind of tank (reef, fowler, etc.) and the type of algae you have growing on the LR and he'll tell you exactly what you need.

Always, Always take your time. Be Patient. I rushed my fist saltwater tank and had nothing but trouble. I learned that lesson the hard way. In this hobby patience and time are crucial. Good luck and post some pics when you get your tank up and running.

welcome to arc!!!! Its cool here and addicting!! You will get better answers here to your questions than any other site IMO.

Welcome aboard! You will find these forums very helpful in the start up and maintenance of your tank. Most everyone here is always willing to help out and there is tons of info.
