Any information on June's ARC meeting?

Where will it be?

Any special engagements lined up for June's meeting?

Bump.

Is everyone on vacation? Has any decisions been made on June's ARC meeting. We are over 1/2 way through June now.

I think if we focus on better well planned meetings, rather than a meeting every month.. More members will attend. And it will be more fun (like the expo)

+1, I would agree.

Your definition in too vague. Also, my prior educational classes at universities specifically stated that you cannot use any part of the original word when defining a word. This maybe because stating the original word within the definition may cause a state of confusion to the reader; no clarity, or just vague in compiling an arrangement of words to allow one to draw a defined conclusion with the original author.

P.S. Soon = [?]. One day, one week, one year, one millennium?

Edit:

Then we should call it "an ARC meeting"; not the monthly ARC meeting.

I travel 90+ miles one way to come to the monthly ARC meetings; scratch monthly meeting. The times I have made it to the meetings, only a handful of people have showed up to the event. Maybe we should just plan a meeting once every three months. I don't think this would help in a higher participation rate for people to come. Just a thought.

How much did the expo cost the club? I don't think that would happen for a while. Just another thought.

I would take that up with your universities and dictionary.com

One would think that it would be difficult to define an adverb without using the adjective that it modifies but you're the expert on the subject.

PS

I knew the definition of shortly long before my college days, surprises me you needed a definition with a college education. :swordfight:

In my opinion the problem is not with the definition. I believe the problem lies in using relative terms. The term shortly is the one I am referring to. It all depends on what shortly is describing. Is shortly describing a few days, a week, or weeks? That is were the misunderstanding is taking place.

The expo was a major event. Not all meetings can can cost that much, either financially or in the hard work and long nights that our BOD put in to planning it. I know that what they want is to please the majority, and you have to understand the amount of work that they put in to this club. It is true that we pay a $30 annual membership fee and that the ARC states there will be monthly meetings. But you don't even have to be a member to attend, and the $30 that we pay to help support this club is nothing compared to the hard work that they put in. This is a non-profit organization. It is in the by-laws that they can profit in no way from the work that they do here. They are volunteers, and believe me, they are doing their best to make us all happy. I do not mean to speak on anyone's behalf, but I believe the BOD can agree with what I have said there.

The issue with only a handful of members attending, well, I believe that if they were focusing on planning an actual event (maybe not as big as the expo, but something fun) every other month, perhaps, more people would attend. And it would be a lot easier than "okay, that ones out of the way, now we have two weeks to throw something else together on top of everything else we have to do to run ARC"

In my case it's that I often become aware of a monthly meeting only a couple days before it happens. A good part of that's a "shame on me" thing for not checking in more often... but (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) I have a demanding work/off work schedule. If I only find out about something 2-4 days in advance, it may as well be taking place on Jupiter - there's not much chance of me clearing time on an evening or weekend to be able to make it.

Maybe some kind of email alert a-la the "a post has happened to a thread we've contributed to"... or maybe just a stickied thread with new-post privs locked to those who can convene a meeting that we're all subscribed to?

Thanks God for the ARC member discount and member for-sale forum sections, or I'd feel like the dues were entirely a donation (not that I'm adverse to doing so)... the last event I was able to make it to was the potluck in the parking lot of Imagine Ocean.

Again, don't have to be a paid member to attend a meeting.

Without a sponsor discount and dues being a donation, I would be happy to donate to keep the forum and community connected. I am fairly new here, only been in GA for about a year and thanks to this forum and commuity I have...
*Made some donations to members.
*Recieved and given advice.
*Bought livestock, some really cool stuff.
*Sold and traded some equipment.
*Made some new friends.

Well worth the cost of entry even though the cost of entry is optional. Like I said, I dont mind paying...most of the benefits really outweigh the sponsor discount. Dont get me wrong, nothing wrong wihtthe discount (I have used it many times).

I also know that there are some that really can't afford it and thats ok too.

I received one of those donations! You were a huge help to me, Dave!

Feast your eyes on everything you have been waiting for!

Edit: Weekend, frags, raffles, fun..... Everything you could ask for.... :D
