I'm looking to add volume to a 4g pico, so I know I need to drill the tank, but where would I find a small bulkhead? I was thinking of hiding a bucket or rubbermaid behind or under a couch just to "buffer" the water some. sound like a dumb idea? it's either that or a canister filter with just a bunch of filter floss. Just trying to think whats cheaper and/or better for the long run.

The smallest I know of is 1/2". I usually get mine from BRS when I do another order of supplies. If I am in a pinch, I go to my LFS to get one. I just have never looked for one that small there.

As far as dumb, I wouldn't say that. It is all about what you want to do and the maintenance you want to do. Small daily water changes would be effective, but if you want to skip a few days, then add the volume.

Simon says "I have some" hehehe, Nemo used to have them in stock, I don't know if he still carries them.

I wouldn't use a "small" bulkhead. You will get better results with something bigger than 1/2, but I have not seen anything like what you're talking about. I agree with Serpent, 1/2 is the smallest I've seen. Good luck!
