where to get acrylic rods?

Apparently these are used in model building of some sort... so maybe Hobbytown USA???

I found this link:

but obviously they're not local.

Kmart and Wally World both sell clear plastic rods for blinds.... I considered using those for my LR when I aquascaped. I know...... ghetto, but fabulous

I will go check out hobbytown tonight. I think we have one in cumming. I was thinking about the plastic rods for blinds but I was thinking of glueing everything to a sheet of acrylic under everything. thanks for the great replies.

Went by hobbytown in cumming and all they had was polystyrene rods. I bought some to see if I could do anything with them.

I bought mine from mcmaster and carr, they have a warehouse west of ATL where you can pick it up. Don't get it shipped... its crazy expensive due to the odd shape of the container.

Howard Brothers Hardware in Duluth (Pleasant Hill and Buford Highway) has them

There is an acrylic place in Woodstock where I bought mine. PM me if you want me to find their info. Also, I have some 3/8" Rod leftover from my tank build if you would like to buy them. I think I have around 10' left.

You can get them locally from Calsak Plastics off of Old Norcross Rd. on Sweetwater Rd (east of I-85).

1/2" rod for $0.66/ft (6-ft rods) and 1" rod for $2.10/ft. They have 1/2", 7/8", and 1" in stock and can get other diameters as special orders. They also have sheet acrylic in various thicknesses.

(This was from a recent email from MrEd, who had to get rods locally recently.)

I've got you covered. If you're going to be at the meeting, remind me and I'll bring it with me.
