well im on the verge of a couple tank builds and im wanting to glue my aquascape together this time instead of just stacking the rocks like i normally do. do you guys know what types of epoxy would be safe to use? i would like something that is fairly quick setting but not superglue quick maybe a 10 minute set time? what do you recommend?

Brijesh, I'm thinking about ordering some acrylic rods and getting a big cement drill bit.

Have you considered that route?

i wont need to go that extream lol the first build is for a 5 gallon pico and the other one is a 40 breeder so the rocks wont be stacked more than 12 inches high so the hydraulic cement should be more than strong enough to hold everything in place this time around but when i do a larger build one day i will probably go that route. but you might consider fiberglass rods like Giuliano is using i think they would be cheaper for you.

There's teally good deals for acrylic rods on amazon with free shipping.

I don't think I'll use any cement, and it's only for a 60 cube. I don't think it's exterme because the idea is that I will be able to change or disassemble it later

i thought about the whole taking it apart later thing and i was planning on cementing groups of rock together and having a few groups that would fit together but that i could take out one by one if needed. of course the 5 gallon scape will be all one piece. and what the heck are you doing up all night?

That works. My sleep schedule is destroyed. I'm nocturnal, but I slowly reversed my lighting schedule on the tank so it's all good :)

Yup!

Looking forward to your scape, I might adjust my plans after seeing what you do

I have a whole room to redo floors walls ceiling everything before I get to my build

it may be a bit before i actually get the 40 b scape. i just brought it up now cause the pico will be ready for water in a day or two. hopefully ill get to work on the 40 some time in march but no guarantees

Zip ties and hydraulic cement work great.

Works like a charm,I put it in the tank about 15 min after "sculpting".
I picked up a bucket let me know if want to try some.

I did a small sample in a 10 gallon and no adverse effects on the green palys ;-)
Then tried a couple of pieces in the 120 nothing messed up yet...
Brijesh, do you remeber the column that had the green slimer- that was made up of three rock pieces with a fiberglass rod ( driveway marker) holding it together. Used the hydraulic cement as a morter to smooth things out, It will swell and grab on to the rock.

Not a prob... I want to visit The Pet Shop and harass Dirk sometime this week, got some stuff to drop off. I'll let you know once I've got everything lined up and brig you a baggie.

Call me and I'll walk you through the process, but if I can figure it out anybody can... even Rich
