which return pump?

I will be setting up a 25 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump.
What return pump should I use?

How high up. I would go for Mag 3 or Quiet one 3000.

The equivelent to the mag three would be the 1200 which is what I run my 22g frag tank with. I run my whole 120 on the 3000which would be the equivelent of a mag 7

are you talking about the maxi jet 1200?

Nope, It would be the quiet one 1200

You could also consider an Eheim 1250 hobby pump. A bit more expensive than a comparable Mag Drive or Quiet One, but a nice pump. About $95.

1250 Hobby Pump
320 gph with a max head of 6.5 feet at 28 watts. Input 16/22 mm, output 12/16 mm.

would you recommend this pump? I see they are a little bit cheaper than the mags. which is what I need right now. Cheaper but still gets the job done.

I like personally like them a little better than the mags. I own both.
