Which Skimmer?

I recently purchased a 180g acrylic which will be a slow build and it came with a practically brand new D&D terminator 2 skimmer when i cleaned this thing up you couldnt even tell it was ever used. But i dont know if that is going to be the best route for my reef although i have seen it on larger systems in the mid 200 gallon sizes, So i ask what is a really good skimmer that i wont have to sell a kidney to get. Could i use the D&D it is rated up to 300 gallons? I also have a friend selling a coral life superskimmer 220 for $100. Im new to the big tanks so any help would be greatly appreciated very much. Thank you.

If it aint broke, dont fix it. I'd use the D&D.

Wait a minute, I'll buy the D&D from you for 100 an then you can get the coralife! Yes, good deal!

Try the D&D first and if it doesn't fit your needs buy another skimmer.

Well when you say it like that it just sounds like its common sense lol. Guess ill try that out, but im sure the corallife 220 will be gone soon.
