I just got a used turbotwist UV and wanna make sure I hook it up correctly. I assume that it doesnt matter which way the water flows through it corerect? There is no specific input or output labeld on it so I figured it doesnt matter. Just want to make sure before I plimb it into the system.

Looks like bottom is in and top by the bulb wire is out.

Now can you find the same thing for the 40W Gamma UV? Mine is not marked either and the instructions don't say anything about direction so I just guessed.

Ha! Thanks, I have that. Unfortunately, it is a typical "Current" type manual and they leave one to guess and that it doesn't matter which is in and which is out but it would be nice for them to say that. The only thing it says about plumbing is:

3. Once you have completed the plumbing, turn the pump on supplying water to the sterilizer. Check all connections on the unit for leaks and monitor for at least 30 minutes. If leaks occur, it may be necessary to tighten fittings.

5. The unit can be mounted either vertically or horizontally depending upon the application. If mounting the unit vertically, make sure that the power supply end is mounted at the top to ensure that any trapped air is forced out of the unit from the water pressure. If mounting the unit horizontally, the inlet and outlet should be facing up.

Thanks, that's exactly what I did with it. I mounted it horizontally with the in/out pointing up.

for the gamma, if its horizontal, just point the outlets up and it wont matter, if its tilted or vertical, in the bottom out the top. do not run it horizontal with outlets sideways or down, water will just trickle across the bottom and leave 95% of the unit full of air, this will kill the contact time in the UV.
