White slivers in pink leather

Hello, I am new to ARC and this is my first post.

I have a leather that has developed a weired white substance at it's base. Here is a link to the pictures. Any ideas?

I forget the correct term for those but they are a soft corals answer to bones, they help to support them. If they are showing the coral is not very happy. It is starting to die off, check the flow to make sure the water around the base is not stagnet and check your water params.

Thanks Jerry,
I have moved it under the HQI bulb (was back in a corner) and put it more in line with a powehead. We will see what happens.
