I noticed this the other day. I know sponges are OK unless they are smothering the coral, starting to see some skeleton on this lobo. Not sure if it is the sponge or warfare with a lobo that was about an inch away (now about 4 inches)

1) do you think it’s tbe sponge? If so, should I just take the lobo out and clean it off with a toothbrush?

2) do you think it might be the other lobo?

I would use tweezers to pick away at the sponge where's it's closest to the lobo's flesh. I would use my hand to move it a few inches further away from it's neighbor. Normally I'd recommend only doing one of those at a time to try and see what the actual cause is but if you try one thing and it's the other, the lobo suffers. My hunch is that it's the sponge and the flesh is just trying to get away from it's irritant.
