Can someone tell me what this white stuff is on Zoa? This was a free frag that came from the swap a couple of weeks ago. It was doing fine till last night when I noticed something like this on it and I tried grabbing it with tweezers and it puffed some white stuff (not happy). Have no idea what the white stuff was coming out of it. Took it out and pulled off the white thing. Now it has taken another zoa today. :mad2:

There's something on the snails shell that I hope is not bad. I would be really interested to know what these are?? Maybe feather dusters, I hope.

Then I noticed white things on the thing that the meteor shower is on. I tried scraping off but it was too hard to do. All I've added was 4 corals and 2 black and white clowns last sunday. Tank is brand new 4 weeks in and everything has been perfect till now. Can someone tell me what is going on?? :o

I have dipped all corals before entering my tank.

Yes, they look like little circles. They are snails? Do I need to get rid of them?

What about the white stuff on the zoas, 2nd picture. Fungus maybe??

There are little fanworms on the snails - harmless.

The little white things on the cyphastrea plug are also harmless - tubeworms that build calcareous tubes - they're fine.

Thanks! What about picture 2 that has the white stuff all over the zoa. It ate one of the zoas yesterday and now it has taken over another. I took it off, but whatever it is, it's destroying them one by one. I've already dipped before putting in my tank. Do I need to get some medicine for it?

I can't see what it is. I see a white thing but I can't tell what it is - need a clearer picture. Is it the zoa turning white, or is it some other organism?

I tried to get a close up. I also took it out of the water. Zoa is turning white.

Thanks!

What's that on the far left corner of the frag? The white thing looks like dead zoa.

Could the Cyphastrea be stinging the zoa?

I moved everything for the picture, but I will move the zoa somewhere else and see if that helps it. Thanks.
