And how often? I picked one up that's pretty small at about 6-8" inflated and I'd like to promote his growth as much as possible. He attached right where I put him (cleaned a hole in the sand to glass and once attached I covered the foot with sand) and he's been content and stationary ever since. IF he stays here he can get as big as he wants.

I don't have much exp with the carpet anemones but i believe that if they decide conditions of where they are at is not good they will move... def don't plan on detaching them from the glass or rock once attached... as stated i know little about the carpet anemone but if there anything like the bubble tips you def wanna feed something like silver sliders.... prestine stable water conditions goood lighting and it will flourish

He's in a area where I used to keep my beautiful neon blue carpet that I think turned out to be TOO beautiful and was dyed to get the intense color:sad: This area gets tremendous light (600w+ on a 93 cube) but is sheltered from flow. My clowns jumped right in which I've found helped keep a nem stationary too. I feed larger thawed krill, shrimp, clam, and silversides but I don't want to overfeed. He gets about an 1" piece every other day right now and it goes from where it sticks to his mouth and gone within seconds so he always seems hungry for sure.

You def want some flow on him but nothing excessive i really can't answer the question on feeding...

My tank has a good 50+ turnover rate so needless to say he gets flow, just nothing direct:D

I tried google for you there ia a website that's on the tip of my tongue i can't remember what it was but it had info galore on all kinds of anemones but i just can't recall it

We fed it a couple of times a week. Ate like a pig - FAST.

Fast is an understatement with this guy. If speed is an indication of health.....he's good to go. I'd say 10 seconds from the time food touches him it's gone. Actually uses it's folds like arms and takes it straight to the mouth. Not lke my other one that kinda "wiggled" food to the central mouth. Here's my once again happy clowns. My lights wash photos badly but it is indeed pretty dang blue in my tank....love it. Nice to not having my silly clowns host my Spongades or Candycane anymore...LOL.

When I bought my first tank it ha a blue carpet that was about 12-15 inches across(s. haddoni) along with a host tomato clown. The guy I bought it from just fed it a whole silverside. The clown would take it straight to the anemone and it would inhale it. I sold it but the guy that had him fed him 1-2 silversides a week

Great looking nem by the way!

I hope to get this guy about that size so he can stuff the whole corner that I can't really mount any SPS.

I have to thank Jenn for the nem. Didn't even notice it when I was there but she caught wind I was looking and hooked me up. When at Imagine Ocean, take a look in every nook and cranny cause she's wall to wall and you never know what gem lies to be discovered:D She sold me and absolutely georgeous chalice a couple weeks ago that wasn't directly under her lights and apparently had been overlooked since it wasn't getting full lights. Once I got it home and acclimated I about had a stroke when I saw the coloration.

Thats interesting I didn't know clowns would help feed the anemone I ended up getting rid of my tomato clown I had for one because he bit me or attempted to bite me every time I stuck my hand in the tank which was more comical than anything but for 2 because every time I tried to feed the anemone the clown would snatch the silversides away from the anemone then not even attempt to eat it.. done it every time I fed

I had a GBTA that always got its dinner stole from him by the clown. BUT.... The carpet nem was a totally different story. The guy would grab a whole silverside and hold it in the water with his fingers. The tomato clown would grab it and immediately take it to the carpet anemone. I don't know if it was doing that to feed the anemone or to try to eat his dinner there. Either way, the carpet anemone inhaled it as soon as it was able to grab it. Pretty amazing to watch. I hear some can be pretty aggressive towards fish as well.
