Who makes probe holders?

they're not tough to make if you've got any spare acrylic (or get some from home depot)

a> has them

I have never worked with acrylilc before. I dont even know what glue I should use for it. Do they sell the glue at home depot or lowes?

you can buy it online.. (weld-on 16) although I didn't use it for mine..

my probe holder on my other sump was a 3"X6" piece of acrylic that had two holes drilled next to each other on one end..

I took a propane torch and heated it up and bent it into the shape of an L.. (hard 90* angle - I used the edge of my workbench as a form)

then I bent the other end in the other direction (picture an "s" curve at the top and a hard "L" at the bottom, facing opposite directions).

I hung the "s" end over the edge and put the probes in the 1/2" holes that I drilled in the other end.

it was crude, but I had the acrylic lying around so it was free..

when you heat it, do so slowly.. take your time and dont put the flame too close (it's plastic, of course, it can catch fire).. do your best to heat it evenly until when you pick one end up, it is clearly too soft to stay rigid (it's ready to bend). The key is to heat it till it's mailable, not heat it up and force it to bend..

oh, and drill the holes first.. (probes should be at least 1" away from each other)

Sweet, thanks for the tip. I will stop by and buy a blow torch tomorrow. i have been meaning to get one for the last few years but never really had a reason too. This is the perfect justification.

i can make them. i have an acrylic bender if you'd like me to bend the acrylic for for , rather then use a blow torch,,

heres some old ones ive made in the past, even added float valves and a tunze ato diode holder.

I have the Eshopps magnetic probe holder. Nice little unit. Well made out of 3/8" acrylic. The slots can do double duty to either hold probes or the end of effluent return tubing. Any of our Sponsors can get you one.

That gives me a nice plan for a DIY one... I have lots of "block" PVC, access to a mill... I think in order to make absolutely sure I don't have magnet/water contact I'll just glue it to the wet side of a magfloat. It doesn't have to be seen, after all.
