I have had this bookshelf in my office for a long time and really love the style of it. It's being moved to make room for my new tank. Do you know of any stand makers that make stands with a similar vibe?

I didn't phrase my initial question well. Sorry about that 🤦‍♂️

Imagine if the designer who made that bookshelf also made stands for reef tanks (supporting an internal overflow box, sump, etc.) with a design style that matched the bookshelf. That's what I'm looking for.

I could get it custom made, but I'd rather have something quicker and cheaper -- just not sure if it exists.

I'm thinking maybe getting a local fab shop to make me one out of steel and powder coat it, then I could skin it with wood myself. The ones I'm seeing online would run me over $1,000.

I think you can get a metal stand from Petco for rally cheap and they do match your picture?

Thank you! Yes, those look like they might be perfect. They just don't come in the size I need (36x24) :( They're a perfect example for the fab shop though! I appreciate you posting these.

I ended up building my own. Mocked it up in Autodesk and then ordered the parts for the frame from TNUTZ.

Frame is black 3030 t-slot. Skin is stained red oak plywood panels with edge banding. The front and both sides are held on by magnets so they can be removed easily. The back is screwed on and inside the frame for extra stability.

Pretty happy with how it turned out. The only thing I didn't account for is that the stand (because of the weight on it) would sink lower in the carpet than the panels (which are just connected to the stand with magnets). Because of that, I'm not yet seeing the black frame showing through at the top like I wanted. I may end up cutting a little off the bottom of the panels to shorten them and get the frame showing. We'll see.
