Whats the deal with chalice corals, I think they look nice but the pices are crazy. Are they slow growers? Are they easy to keep?

The price is about one third color and two thirds scarcity IMO. Naturally, the really pretty stuff brings more. Once it has been "out" for a while, the price per eye will start to drop and there will be a new "coral du jour".

That's just the way the hobby is. Something will be hot for a while sometime or another. No one was after mini-maxi's a few years ago, now people pay $50 for a 2-3" nem. If it's too much, wait. Buy a frag from a fellow reefer who ponied up. You get a frag for less, they offset their costs. Win-win

Plus there are some really cool ones out there. Check out the Rising Sun chalice. Grant WANT!... but not at that price :P

A few years ago, acans were just as ridiculous. I wish I could get an inside tip on what will be hot next. :)

True, some chalice grow pretty fast compared to others. Although the slower it grows, the more it cost...Heck, some are $500+ for a peice the size of your pinky nail.

If some of my chalice was the size of my pinky i would be so happy lol.
