I have a large (30 head) cluster of candy cane coral and some of the heads have died. I think got too much flow on one side. Are heads gone for good or will they regenerate? And if they won't come back should I remove them from the bunch. Thanks for the info

If the meat is completely gone the will not come back. I buy colonies a lot of the time with dead heads and I cut the dead ones off. But don't cut to far down

Good luck

Picture would help. What's "upstream" from the Candy? I've never known too much flow to be a problem, but an aggressive coral up current from the Candy can sting it, even if they don't physically touch. Had this happen with a Hammer once, about 8" from the Candy but the flow was bringing the chemical warfare right to the candy.

Is it dying on one side of the colony only?

A picture of the ailing polyps, plus a shot that includes what's in the immediate vicinity might solve the problem.
