hey everyone. I recently bought a emerald crab to take care of a small bubble algae problem in my tank, but started to wonder if it would harm any coral. I saw some people saying they might eat zoas so was wondering if anyone had experiences with them. thanks!

I once had one emerald crab cause about 300 dollars in damage in just a couple of nights before I caught him. He was ripping my coral open to get to the food inside and ended up killing a large lobo and some acans. I’m don’t trust them at all anymore.

oh wow. i’ll try to get it to somebody who needs it

I tried two, they both nipped at soft corals. I haven't tried a third

I only keep cheap corals but my emerald crabs leave my zoos alone. I have a little guy and a big one. Not really sure what they eat cause my bubble algae is untouched. He hangs out under my zoas but haven’t seen any missing

I never had them nip corals. IMO they are eating algae and scraps that the corals have captured often times. Apparently these guys behave differently for everyone though.
