I know this is a pointless thread to start but I was just so excited at the fact that the little buggers are finally gone. (At least for now) I have done several batches of aptasia peppermint shrimp file fish that liked to eat my coral more than the aptasia. I was finally able to get rid of them when I went in on a cleanup crew group buy. I just didn't feed for 3 days and that seemed to do the trick. Of course my clowns were not too happy with me.

Thanks... now I can concentrate on more on aquascaping so this actually gets me motivated to do some reconstruction

Seriously though I thought I was going to have to go commando and drop some c-4 in the tank to get rid of it

I had some come in on a rock full of mushrooms that was given to me. I knew they were there but figured I could wipe them out easy enough. Oh what a fool I am sometimes. Well ok most of the time. :-). I have beat them back considerably but have not win the war yet.

Yah that was the same thing I thought mine was just 1 on a frag of nuclear palys I killed it few days later then 3 popped up them 5... and so on and so on lol. Something that helped me was that my tank was small enough that I would remove the rock it was on and just let it dry if it had no coral on it and replace with a similar piece but there were a few I still couldn't get rid of until the peppermint shrimp finally did what they were supposed to

I picked up a couple of peppermints a while back. Put them in the tank and never saw them again. I did notice my yellow coris wrasse looked a bit heavier after that though. LOL

Thinking I may pull the trigger on the file fish that is for sale. Couple it mine are on the back side of rocks where I can't reach them with a wand or aptasia x

I know results may vary expience I had with my file fish was he picked off the baby aptasia instantly after being acclimated within about 5 minutes but would not even attempt to go after the larger one. However he did help me out to a degree on a couple that I couldn't get to. Best of luck rich its a tough battle for sure

Do you have an manjo wand? And if so how do you like it? Thinking of buying one.

A friend let me use his. They work great on the ones you can reach. You get a bit of sick enjoyment out of zapping those buggers. :-). But, it doesn't do much for the ones in the hard to reach places. If I were to design one, I would try to come up with a wand that articulated in a couple spots.

After a couple weeks of wand work and lots of aptasia x I was able to knock them down but unless you get them all it is a very long battle.

Copperband butterfly: the ultimate aiptasia X

Edit: As of a few days ago, I can happily say that I have owned my copperband for over a year- tough challenge for some.

So when do I get to borrow him for a while. LOL. Don't you think it is about time for him to have a sleep over with my yellow tang?? After all they were buddies in the same tank in the past. He heheh

They were able to see each other from across the room, but they weren't in the same tank.

We both have iPhones, as a compromise, we can let them have "face time" :D

Hey on the note of filefish, are there any that are more visually appealing and still do their job?
