The 2 red ones are prolly Bristle Worms and the White one being a Fire worm..Dont touch the FW...Hurts rather bad..

i have tons of worms in my tank that always come out around feeding time. Some people that i have talked to say that a six line wrasse will help control worms.

I look at bristle worm as being a good indicator of one's over all tanks health. Their numbers tend to fluctuate over time and a few may get several inches long or longer say like several feet. And that was in an aquarium. I think one of our members pulled on out that was quite large recently. They should pose no problems for your tanks live stock. You generally see them at night after lights out and maybe some times during feeding.

Bad worms Umm? Yes....Some types of flat worms are typically not a good thing to have in your tank.

Most worms will be introduced by live rock.

What's the going rate for a 1 of a kind FOUR FOOT (STRETCHED) EUNICID WORM! It has more poison quills than Medusa herself! From Fiji. No feeding necessary (self feeding!)! She writhes like a snake, and is as quick as M. Vick Losing 105 million.

seriously though, those worms are really good for your tank unless you have a coral eating fire worm, which is extremely rare. They are scavengers.

well, I pulled a longer one out of my pa.... anyway................that's great for steve! Did you ever pull a 4 foot worm out of YOUR tank?

Ok guys... lets stop comparing eachothers worm sizes before someone gets their feelings hurt! ;)

To answer the original poster: you want want to read up a bit on this site:

just joking around! trust me, a four footer was enough for me! That was crazy!

here's another great place for worm sizes....ummm.....I mean worm types:

very awesome!

anyway, I think Steve's worm is dead anyhow:
This really sucks! I was looking for "his 8 foot worm info", but I found this instead:

Tank-O-death

Well....I had a little incident Thursday morning......

Thursday morning (03-17-2007), I did a water change and decided to clean the powerheads on my skimmer since I haven't cleaned those in over a year. I got everything up and going, when I got a call that forced me to leave earlier than I had planned.

I returned home around 10pm......meaning that I was gone some 14 hrs. Well, apparently, clean skimmer pumps are much more efficient than dirty ones......so, the skimmer proceeded to overflow and empty my entire 200 gal sump down the drain. I had to do something....and since I had no water made up and it would take two days to generate 200 gals....I was forced to use tap water. Our water up here is actually not too bad out of the tap.

I also had some dechlorinator on hand that I've had...but never needed....for years. I filled the sump, mixed in dechlorinator, salt.....mixed well.....and powered up. Everything was back on line....went to bed.

I woke up Friday to the tank of death....every single sps coral is gone. All ricordea....gone. Fish and lps are fine....anemones...not happy; but alive. I removed all the dead stuff.....some seven buckets of sps heads ....some two feet in diameter.....very sad.

I feel that the fault was mine....I probably would have been fine with just taking the two days to create more water.....after all, my closed loop was working fine and I could have always added aeration. The second mistake was probably adding too much of a very old dechlorinator....which, I feel, was the primary cause of death. It was just a case of reacting too quickly and not thinking.

I always try to find the bright side in the face of adversity....in this case:

1) I'm going to save a ton on reactor media.
2) My cold tank is doing great....I can always look at that instead
3) no more AEFW's
4) no more red bugs
5) I guess I can reaquascape now
6) I'm now a buyer for sps heads
7) I have a vacation coming up and I won't have to worry a lick about the tank.

And to think that I was contemplating updating my site with new pics......well, at least that saves some time taking new pics.....starting over sucks.....

sorry for "stealing your thread" (just plaiyin' around), but do really check out those great sites that Brandon & I posted for you!

I have a nice wrasse population so no worm dares show itself... unless of course it was 4' long.

Yea hopefully I will never run into a four foot worm! uhhhhhhh yea I would honestly freak waking up to one expecially in a 30 gal! lol......but again thnx for the info n possibly nightmares of that worm!

dumdum dumdum dumdum (jaws sound) Next time Danielle comes over Ill send her with some stuff to test your water..Pick up a couple damsels Cole it will help cycle some and you can see something move other than worms :)
