I got a Ro unit but not sure if i can use it and i may try this. My friend used it with reat results. Just wanting opinion

Those actually work surprisingly well for what they are... I tested TDS on one eons ago for a customer and it was in the 1-2 range (I don't remember the starting TDS of the water).

They aren't a substitute for a good RO/DI unit but they do help.

If you're thinking about buying one though, I'd save that money plus a bit more and put it toward a real RO/DI unit.

JMHO.

I've heard they go through the filters pretty quick. IMO, just save some money for a good RO/DI, it'll be so much better for your tank.

I have one, and they work fine for small volumes. If you use it a lot, ie- need more than a few gallons of water a week, I would go bigger.-JMO

I used to use one of those when I started out with my 20g. It worked great. Does go through filters quick, but since I only needed a couple of gallons at a time, it was perfect for me.

Well i got a Ro unit just cant figure out the model info and so on. Then trying to see how to hook it up as its a used one with no instructions : (

we'll tell you how to set it up...

(or google RODI diagram and figure it out yourself, based on the lines connected to your system)

typically...
Black is your waste water line
Yellow is your "pure filtered water line"
Blue is your water supply line
