I'd it normal for a xenia to move this much? This is his 3rd move and this time about 5 inches, and going under a rock. I don't recall these things moving this much. Wish I knew where he was going, but every time he moves he leaves more frags behind.

Mine always move to multiply. I started with three stalks. Now I have 70+

I picked up a free frag at the swap. The Xenia was attached to a shell. About a week later a hermit crab claimed the shell, and I had moving Xenia =)

Now that's awesome! I believe im gonna go glue some to my shells now!

The hermit crab abandoned ship after a few days but it was pretty cool to watch it "walk" around.

Congrats.. you have the correct parms for the Xenia. That sucker grows like a weed when it is happy. Some people can't get it to do anything and some can't get it to stop growing. Usually it grows most when you give it alot of light and good flow. I think it heads to the flow.

I had a cluster of six or so that just sat on a rock for months. Right after I changed my lights it took off. (guess it loves the new light) It took about two days to bend with the flow and attach to the next rock. A few days later it started to split and grow. I know alot of people that hate Xenia because it grows like a weed and crowds everything.

Just an update on where this guy is now. Clearly climbing. He is starting to attach to the top rock and let go of the bottom. He is really stretched out.

Already took some if the frags that were left behind.

Yeah that stuff grows pretty fast and moves around> i have some on frag plates that grew off and then left new frags behind on the plates, so no loss, just a smaller frag (for now)

Todays update on the great escape of the xenia

My Xenia has grown from one small frag to this...My tuxedo picked up a frag the other day and carried it for a couple of weeks on his back. It was hilarious. The Xenia is beautiful but grows so fast I must cull often.
