I purchased 3 XM 10K bulbs.

2 of the three are/were YELLOW

After running them for 2 weeks, never got any better. I switched sides, ballasts, sockets, and the yellow followed the bulb.

XM said they'd take the 2 back (but it was unusual that BOTH were yellow)

OK, so I get a 4th bulb so I can run my tank while I ship off the 2 (2 250's). Guess what....it's yellow again.

Am I getting bad bulbs? I'm running them on a M58 ballast. XM suggested I go with a 14K 250, but the PAR on those can't be as good as the 10K.

Suggestions PLEASE. Tank looks like crap as it is now...

Suggestion...stay away from the XM 15000's. While they have great colors, They are notorius for having lower par thatn even the 20k's.....ask me how I know.

I have 3 mx 10k's that are "yellow" and one that is a nice "white".

I switched to 20K. Love the colours compared to the 10K

I have not been overly impressed with my XM 10 000k se 250w bulbs for the same reason they burn very yellow

My favorite 10,000k SE bulb is made by Hamilton.. I'll find some pics of a tank running them.

Here's an older pic of a 600 gallon tank I took over I'm converting to a reef. It has 6 Hamilton 400w 10,000k SE bulbs on it now. Those batfish ate $450 in mushrooms... I'm not trying anymore of those. The owner refuses to let go of the batfish. And before anyone says anything- The water's cloudy because I was cleaning the tank.

These bulbs fire up really yellow, but end up a nice white after a few minutes. I've only ever had one Hamilton 10,000k stay really yellow. They replaced it.

I dont care what kinda bulbs that has. That setup is awsome. I noticed one side is the bathroom is the otherside viewable from another finished room? I couldn't tell in the pics.

One half is the bedroom, the other is the bathroom. The chiller and calcium reactor are in the ceiling. Built into the stand there's a huge sump, a custom MR3 skimmer, GFO reactor, U.V., and a water storage tank for water changes.

I have a double ended 250 thats yellow if you want to go all yellow.

Hey at least it will match. I tried the xm 10,000k for one week and had to buy a new bulb.:yuk:

This is total horse$hit. First XM says they will take care of me, so I buy ANOTHER bulb because my tank uses 2 250's.

Now XM is telling me "there is something fishy going on".

I tell you what, if they don't do as they said they will do, I'll be calling AMEX up and they can deal with them.
