Im considering getting a paired up yasha goby and a pistol shrimp! what you yall think? They will be going into a 12 gallon nanocube

I think it's a great idea! I have a yellow watchmen (2 actually) and a pistol-I love watching them-the three share the same hole underneath a piece of LR. I would think great choice for a 12 g.

i have a yash goby and a candy cane pistol on my 14... they are great... now i'm trying to find how to sex the yasha and try to pair him/her.

Also Im going to have a paired group of clownfish with a bubble tip anemone and possibally a TINY sixline wrasse. a good community and personally I dont think the bio load witll be an issue considering the 12 gallon nano delux cycles 9 times an hour, Im making the filteration into a refug, having 15 lbs of liverock and going to be doing moderate water changes! whats your input

most of the time it's through pure, brute force--you might even have to get him/her drunk before hand! lol

I agree! They are great fish! I have a pair in my 70G and they should do well in your tank as well. I think these fish are very tough to tell sexes apart. I found my pair at Tim's and they had already paired up in his tank. It's easy to tell if there is a pair together since they will rarely leave each others side. If you can find a tank with a few fish look for signs of pairing.

Brazilian, you could try finding a much smaller single fish and try introducing it to the one you have... it might work but hard to know. Good luck!

I have a pair also and love them! I love how they match also :) I may get a mate for the goby, but I will wait until after I move in Feb.

I have a 12 gallon Nanocube that has the yashia goby and candy cane shrimp pair with a pair of clowns and they have done well together so far :)

Opposite - Male Large Sail Dorsal/Female Small dorsal

They are great for nanos! Hard to find so a bit higher priced...

Of course Chris is correct but my pair was really hard to tell apart by dorsal fin size. The only way I can tell the difference in mine is that the female has a larger abdomen (full of eggs). As full adults I can see the difference but it took some time.
