i picked up a pink anthia from nemos today maybe 4" big probably a little larger anyway ever since i acclimated him and put him in the tank the yellow tang is nudging at him with his nose and sort of chasing him away not biting or anything how long do you think they will keep this up? i can tell the tang is not trying to hurt him because theres no nipping

Tangs do not nipe (usually) they spar with their tails, where the barbs are. I would get the Anthia into a acclimation box immediately until the interest subsides or lack thereof. Even if he is not "attacking" the stress from the assault could lead to mortality.

well he hasnt tryed to spar him but he does seem to be leaving him alone i think the anthia got into his area and the tang didnt like it i'll get the acclimation box ready just incase he starts misbehaving again

well hes leaving the anthia alone but the minute i go near the tank the anthia hides also hes hiding behind the rocks and didnt eat today this is normal right?

Kinda, obviously he's stressed and shy. How fast are the other fish taken down the food you put in? Is there anytime for it to fall remotely close to where he is hiding? Basically what I do in situations like this is over feed a bit, while concentrating on two separate sides of the tank. One where I want the aggressive fish to be at and the opposite where the shy one is. Also once you feed move away, shut off TV or anything else that could cause him to hide. Hopefully he will feel comfortable long enough to come out and try to eat.

maybe they made up last night lol cause now their swimming on the same side but the minute i come near the tank he hides im gonna give your idea a try just drop some food in and hide behind a wall or something thanks for all the help
