Mostly likely due to the high pH of the concrete curing. It took me over a month to have the pH drop from my DIY bkg I made for my FW tank. I can;t imagine how long it would take for all that concrete to drop. Though the fish would be considerably smaller, an African Cichlid tank would have been much prettier! ya know, if you wanted the whole freshwater look.

Here is a build up on a 17,000 gallon reef... it is 65 pages long so beware, but there is a ton of neat stuff.
