Just out of curiousity, what makes a yuma ricordea different that just a regular ricordea?

I'm by no means an expert... but I believe there are generally 2 types of ricordea: Ricordea Floridia and Ricordea Yuma. The former hails from the carribean and is generally more colorful than the yuma which come from the pacific.

Yep, its a west coast east coast thing. Yuma is typically larger and typically can have a wider assortment of colors. Floridia has the beautiful orange ricordia which is becoming harder and harder to find.

I have both and in my experience and from what I have read from others Fla Ricordea is easy to keep but Yumas especially the "rare" pinks and reds can be more difficult to keep happy.

Ok, that was simple enough. Are yumas rare? You just don't see them for sale very much.

I would not say that they are rare but like most corals the nicer the color the harder they are to find.
