I decided to create a new home for my mushrooms since they looked miserable swirling in the current of my 5 gallon. I put it together using spare parts lying around my house. I used a 1 gallon cookie jar, wal-mart heater, clip on light, and a coralife 50/50 bulb. I did go to petsmart and pick up a little fishbowl submersible pump/filter for flow.

My goal is a macro and mushroom jungle with some shrimp, an astrea snail and hermits.

In the future I'm going to replace the coralife with a waterproof led strip from eBay. I'll stick it to the underside of the glass lid to conceal it. It'll look so stealthy!

Or I can go to Home Depot and get those little sticky feet things and put them all around. There's a nice ledge on the inside.

Be very careful keeping that lid on there.....its going to cause your O2 to get depleted over time, may want to consider a small air stone.
I'm pretty sure he is on here

Great use of empty jar. Im usually just a fan of larger tanks (im more of a fish guy than corals) but this is extremely impressive.

Here is my jar next to my 5 gallon nano. I still need to get LEDs for inside the lid, so please ignore the ghetto clip on light.

Do you have any sort of surface agitation in this tank? Hows the water quality now that its been setup for a while?

I have a small fish bowl pump for circulation. Water parameters are still good.

Nitrates: 0
nitrites: 0
ammonia: 0
PH: 8.0
