Hi All,
I placed this in the reef forum. If it should be moved to nano's, sorry. But it might be a bit more general.
So, I have 12 nano cube (jbj) and I have had it sitting around for a couple of years. Finally decided to set it up for she who must be obeyed. So far so good.
I removed the original light, transformer and fans. I have replaced them with two power brite led's (half 10k, half blue atinic), hence the reason I can 86 the fans. Color and shimmer are awesome. best 100+ bucks I have spent in a while (BTW, will upload pics in the not too distant future
So far, I have removed all filtration items from the back (in reading up, seems like most of it is junk anyway).
one note: currently my bio load is low. Several small softie frags (gsp, leather toadstool, shrooms etc...) and snails and a few micro hermits)
So... In the setup in the back, the only thing I have is a heater and the pump (tank has a reasonable amount of live rock also).
to date the only "real" filtration has been water changes. I am considering dropping a bag of chemi-pure in the middle chamber.
I have futzed with micro skimmers, but to date have not been much impressed.
Anybody with thoughts on a better setup for filtration? I'm not adding a sump or anything elaborate (not that I haven't considered it
, but I'd like to set this up to be (a good combination if possible) of simple and easy.
Thoughts?
Thanks, johnny
