Hey guys,
I finally had my 120 rimless delivered yesterday so I thought I would start a build thread. Its a Glasscages tank with Starfire glass and a center overflow. I also ordered a 30 tall oak stand to go with the tank. I decided to go with GC for the obvious reason...the price of the tank. I was a bit concerned about all the reviews on their sloppy silicone work but after I received the tank I was pleasantly surprised with the silicone. It looked really good.
Anyways, I have to wait the dreaded 3 weeks for the silicone to cure out before I can add water but in the meantime I have to stain and finish my stand so that will keep me busy for a while. My plan is to have an external sump (rubermaid tote) in the garage so I will have to drill holes thru the wall for my piping which hopefully wont be that big of an issue. In the meantime here are some pics of the tank and stand.
Any pointers or suggestions you may have please feel free to chime in!

I want that tank, only with an eternal scrubber box. You'd be surprised how much room those overflows take up haha

so was this delivered to your HOME? or did you have to meet a GC truck ?

I was the only delivery down here so he delivered it to my house.

OK finally had a chance to get some stain on the stand. Went with Red Mahogany. My last 90g was this color and I really liked it so thought I would keep it.

One large panel on the front seems to be the new trend.

I think it makes for easier access under there if you had a sump there. A lot better than having two doors with a brace in the middle!

Thanks!

Are you pleased with the stand? Is it pretty solid? I am looking to upgrade my stand and love the one big opening.

The stand seems to be well built. Mine is made out of solid oak trim and for the sides it is the oak veneer plywood. It is lightweight but seems to be solid as a brick. Time will tell once I get my tank all set up on it. On another note my bro in law bought his GC tank and stand 4 years ago and he said he has not had any problems with any of the setup including the stand.

Finally got the stand all stained and finished! Also got the tank moved in from the garage and put on the stand!

No just the 120. I am trying to sell my 65g that I use to have set up.

Hey guys I haven't been able to work on the build all that much until yesterday and today. I think I got the majority of the build (well I say all the plumbing!) pretty much underway. I was able to plumb the tank in and set the 100g rubermaid sump up. I also installed the RODI along with all new filters and the Dual BRS reactor. As of right now the sump is filling up with RODI and I am mixing in the salt a little bit at a time. Here are some of the pics from today. Hope you are enjoying the build. Any input anyone may have please feel free to express your ideas! I can take some constructive criticism haha :)
