I got a 14 Gal Nano. Oceanic Bio cube. It came with a Protein Skimmer (the oceanic one) should I keep it in there? Are they any good?

What is the best thing to do to these? I want to keep it stock and clean looking.

I have been doing about a 4 gallon water change every 2-3 weeks, inplace of having a protein skimmer.

As long as your practice good husbandry, you wont need a skimmer on that tank.

Nanos need weekly changes.2 gallons a week is what I do on my biocube. toss the bioballs from the 2nd chamber. chech out nanoreef.com for mods

+1 that's good advance. You should take it. As far as skimming goes. I feel that little to even very little skimming is better then no skimming. Keep on top of your WC and even with a tiny stock skimmer. Your tank will still be healthier. Just my .02 cent

Rubble an idea years ago but no one does it any more. 2nd chamber is good to have a intake media rack. They have a web site. most people use filter floss on the first rack, chemipure and purigen on the other 2 racks. remove false floor from the first chamber to fit a longer heater. The reason people quit using rubble is the same reason people dont use bioballs they trap unwanted waste and food.In a tank under 20 gallons water changes are your friend dont waiste the money on a skimmer. Ive had most nano skimmers they do ok but when i removed them the tank still did the same. The ato is your best friend for a nano.
