Hey fellow nano reefers,
I’ve noticed a growing population of bristle worms in my 14-gallon mixed reef and I’m torn about whether to intervene. I know that smaller species can be beneficial detritivores, but there are also reports of bigger fireworms becoming aggressive or harming corals.
For those with nano setups, how do you decide when bristle worms cross the line from helpful to problematic? Have you used traps or natural predators successfully in a tank this size? Did cutting back on feeding or rearranging rockwork make a difference? I want to keep the system balanced without overreacting.
Curious to hear your experiences managing bristle worm populations in nano tanks.
