150 Hqi Bulb Replacement

any idea how long an hqi bulb last? and what bulb do you guys recommend replacing with?

You will get different opinions but I change my 150W DE HQI's at least 1 x per year. Right now I use a Phoenix 14k. They are decent bulbs.

a good quality bulb will last about a year or more. The rest is preference really. There are higher pars & such, but it depends how blue you like, and if you have a t-5 actinic or not.

I use AB 10k (13k) & 1 actinic T-5, I liked the AB's without the actinic, too. I thought the Ushio 14k were too "fake blue" for me. But that's just me.

I use mine for 18 months then I start thinking about replacing. After that it might take me another six months to get around to it.
