thats a good idea i haven't actually planned on what corals i want yet im going to start planning soon

the other fish are staying on the left side of the tank and the lyretail is stayin ont he right side i guess they wanna check him out first lol

so i have 2 pyramid butterfly fish on order will have them next week after i add these 2 butterfly fish i wont be adding anymore fish for a long while and will focus on corals and inverts over the next month or two i currently have a tomato clownfish a coral beauty a one spot foxface and a lyretail anthia will update with photos once i have them

Doing some maintenence today as of now I have a tomato clownfish a one spot foxface rabbit fish a Coral beauty angel fish a lyretail anthias and two Pyramid butterfly fish I want to focus on inverts and corals over the next 2 months

Update: Last friday my tank came down with marine velvet wiped out all my fish but 2, the tomato clown and 1 pyramid butterfly the rest died from velvet. it came in on one of the skunk cleaner shrimp and some snails i added a few days before.
Very angry with myself my tank was going great but i guess sometimes this happens in this hobby so my tank is going fallow for 76 days or so to be sure its gone starting last sunday 11/09/2019
Before the velvet hit my tank i also had an issue with dinos but ive had my tank blacked out most of the day since sunday and the dinos seemed to have died off also dosing with microbacter 7 now i see a few rocks have a couple patches of hair algae so im moving in the right direction.
i will update this thread again after my fallow period when i start to add live stock again.
That is the last time i buy live stock online without going through QT for 2 cleaner shrimp and some snails i lost most of my fish i definitely learned my lesson.

Damn im sorry to hear that bro, that really sucks especially from something that small. The butterfly fish were beautiful, I'm glad at least 1 made it. Thank you for sharing at least, it helps newbies like me learn. Because to be honest I wasn't sure about qt'ing cuc but now I know without a doubt.
To echo what reefchef said, thanks for that bit of info and experience you shared. What I gleamed from that is make sure to have a quarantine tank before adding livestock.......I'm starting to think I will have a "fish room" in my basement not just a tank. Starting to realize for any reef tank it's best to have a plumbing and drains handy.

Thanks in the end the 2 fish that i tried save didn't make it the velvet was too advanced its so amazing to me how fast it can kill your fish 1 day they were fine and within 24 hours they were all covered in velvet i decided to go fallow for 6 weeks and i have 2 tomato clownfish 2x carberryi anthias 1x coral beauty 1x ones spot rabbit fish and 1x yellow tang that have been in QT for a little over 3 weeks by next friday or saturday i plan to add them back into my DT

Ive added most of the fish back into the DT from my QT except the rabbitfish and 1 carberryi anthias didnt make it through QT not really sure i ever saw him eat because they both looked identical

Just wanted to update my thread with whats been going on with my tank lately and some pictures i had a hippo tang and square spot anthias make it through QT successfully so they are now in the DT and doing well my current stock list is below, and i finally added my first coral and anemone. i added a BTA yesterday and a GSP Colony where i have the colony now im pretty sure i should move it before it covers that entire rock i want to add some zoos and leather coral next week and i also picked up another female Squarespot anthias and a female Japanese Swallowtail angelfish both are in QT at the moment.
