150G LPS Build

Nice, I'm in Duluth. We have a few members starting to chime in from our neck of the woods. There's a bunch of people on the north west side, it's good to see more out this way.

Another update: finally bored waiting for the overflow (can't believe an overflow box takes four weeks to build!), I got the return line in place. Only took a whole day and drove to Home Depot three times.....

I used 1.25" barb from the pump output, connected a check valve via silicon tubing (most expense soft tubing I have ever bought...), then it takes a turn to go horizontal to a T, split into two 1" pvc pipes and finally reduce to 0.75" and reach the return bulkheads through silicon tubings again. I used quite a few soft tubing because I want to minimize the stress put on the fittings and unions. Also silicon tubes are easy to work with and never kink. I also used several screw hooks and heavy duty zip lock ties to hold the pipes in place.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that it's taking so long to get your overflow in. I was going to offer you the on that I have in the closet. After measuring it, I found that it's a bit short. It' a 16" Synergy overflow. What you've done so far look great.

Thank you @Urbanknight. I appreciate you trying to help. The tank is drilled for the 20” version so there is really no way around it. Hopefully I get it next week so I can get the tank running before wife and kids are back.

Now my fear is Synergy reef is going to push the delivery date again or ship something wrong... So far they just don’t seem to be a very helpful.

Finally got the overflow and stayed up until 2AM this morning to get the tank plumbed. Luckily no leak after test running overnight. Now comes aquascape...

Spent many hours thinking and trying aquascaping and I still got nothing...

So dumped some rock in pile and called it a day

Took a whole day to get enough RODI water to fill the tank and sump but we are finally here.

It appears to be fixed now. You may need to log out and close your browser then log back in.

I'll leave this up till tonight then I'll delete this and the previous posts above to clean up the thread.

So I have been working on the 300G lately since it had arrived two weeks ago. The 150G is doing Okay and I am just focused on getting the 300G up and running so I can move all the fish out of the 150G.

Here is what the 300 looks like today

So I managed to catch all the angles in the 150 SCA and move them to the 300G.

Now comes the headache part: the yellow eye Kole tang being the most aggressive fish in the 150, just wont come out. Not even getting close to the trap. Hopefully I can get him this week....

I have been updating on my R2R build thread. If you are interested please follow me via the link below. Thank you.
