Hey guys, I’m trying to get to the point where I can sell some live rock on the selling thread. It says I need 25 meaningful posts before I’m allowed to list something. What counts as a post? Something like what I’m doing now? Or are replies on other threads something that goes towards the 25 as well? (I notice those are listed as “messages” under my profile, not “posts”)

I think a meaningful post is something that you post that starts up a conversation.

Is it a thread though, or just a comment on another post? 25 seems like a lot of threads that I would have to post. People would get sick of me haha
 
I wrote several ones, but then I got impatient. Haha I just paid the supporting member and people just gave me coral. Also, in the meetings, you have a chance to win raffles. Some people win New lights, a Trident, and I won a 50 gift card. Well, lots of people won gift cards. Being a supporting member is so worth it. But ofcourse, if you can’t be one, it’s totally understandable.

Ouch, okay I guess I’ll have to keep trying in fb marketplace 😅 I downsized the rock in my tank by about 100 lbs and I don’t need what I took out. It’s using my backup heater and pump so I’d really like to get rid of it soon lol. Thanks for the help Mike.

That’s what confused me! It just seemed like a lot 😂 maybe that’s another incentive to become a supporting member
 
I think the "meaningful" post requirement is to allow people who participate and actually contribute something positive to the community to become sellers, and try to eliminate new market members to jump on and tear through 25 threads saying "nice picture" to be able to sell.

You’ve got a point there. I’d definitely like to be a positive part of the community; I like the hobby a lot! Thanks for the help
 
I just joined as well. The post thread pops up after you make 25 posts anywhere outside of the buying section.

I just heard about this place a few days ago, but I've already met Steve and Middigy! Great guys. Hope theres a meetup soon.
 
In all honesty, it isn't hard to get 25 post. Even if you just go back through so old post and respond. There's actually some great threads, @sharis100 has her kitchen tank's thread, @civics has a couple of great build threads, @Rainblood has a good thread, so you can go back and read through them and make your responses meaningful and hopefully gather some additional insights that you may like.
 
To be honest, I don’t even know what a thread is lol so, you guys are saying just respond to threads and that counts? I thought it was post something like what is everyone’s favorite Zoa/Paly for 2021? Or something

Others have given the right answer here. Posts outside sales forum count toward the 25 but $30 and you can do it now plus all the other benefits. Also, nice to have another Temple Reefer here. Howdy neighbor!

Howdy pops! What a small world 😂 I’m originally from Indiana, but I moved to Carrollton about 5 years ago with family, and just recently moved to Temple to rent a place for my girlfriend and I. I like it here a lot!

Its a nice, quiet town. We have only been here a couple years too. I'm from Stone Mountain but arrived here via Athens and Lake Oconee. Temple is a metropolis compared to where we lived in Eatonton. 😅
 
So a thread is what you started, titled 25 post requirement. Each response under that is a post.
