Oh wow, Eatonton must have been quaintIts a nice, quiet town. We have only been here a couple years too. I'm from Stone Mountain but arrived here via Athens and Lake Oconee. Temple is a metropolis compared to where we lived in Eatonton.
hey, what is your go-to LFS? When I was in Carrollton I went a few times to one up in Kennesaw, but the drive was a little much so I’d love to try out closer ones if you recommend any!

We don't have really any good options out here. There's a guy in Villa Rica who sells out of his garage. You will get various opinions on him on the forum. He's always been decent when I've interacted with him. As far as brick and mortar, your best bet is to go up toward Marietta/Kennesaw. I usually make a day of it and try to hit Reef Shac, Premier, Optimum, and Creation.Oh wow, Eatonton must have been quaint

I hear ya. I will be back. Been doing it for 20 plus years. Had a big leak from a hot water pipe in the dining room. I have to replace all the flooring downstairs, so I would need to break down the tank regardless to replace the floor...Dang, you didn’t give me a chance to reply before paying

I’ve gotten the majority of my corals from him, really great dude in my opinion. He does fish and coral as well as some reptiles. He’s been really helpful especially when I was first starting out and he’s got a lot of great deals.
Good dude or not, he's running an illegal operation. He's only got great deals because it ignores all the rules and expenses that legitimate sellers have to follow. I think it says it all right there that he can't operate without cheating the system. There's a reason the only way to find him is is through a private group.
I'm just curious, how do you know he isn't a licensed pet dealer? I don't know myself but he has discussed with me having to pass inspections of his premises to be able to stay in business.

He probably has a license for pet sales, he would have to in order to set up an account with a wholesaler, which he has.
You can run a business out of your own home that’s perfectly legal there’s just more restrictions when you sell from a residential area. I know multiple businesses selling clothing or homemade cleaners or honey and produce out of their own homes. They have licensure and everything just they have specific restrictions. And depending on the town or city you live in they range… restrictions and rules can vary drastically.
It is illegal to run a retail store out of your residence. I am speaking this from 30 years in the aquarium trade and personally being involved in the startup or operations of multiple stores in the Atlanta area and back in my home town. He's ignoring the laws which is why he doesn't advertise his business in any way. Just try to find a webpage, Google listing, yelp review, literally anything except his private Facebook group. There a reason he keeps a low profile and it's because he's illegal and he knows it. I can start posting specific regulations if you like.
