29 gallon Biocube

Decided not to put any of the corals in my tank. I'm using some of my own and getting more. A nice turbinaria, orange fungia, a dendro, some cool mushrooms, and some LPS.

Dylan made me a nice scape but I ruined it. Then I built this one inspired by his (his was better). I tried to use a lot of pieces in the same way, but ended up with less of a shelf and more of a round shape. Before it was a cave with a great ledge and lots of places to put corals. Oh well. It happens.

The water is just starting to clear back up. I dosed Nano pert A & B (Kent) and am continuing to dose Stability. Threw in a couple corals just to see if they can handle the WP-25 in this tank. Since I took the pics they have already started to open up (and the trumpets are puffing up). I might throw in my warpaint tomorrow.

I'm also going to try a birdsnest. We will see how that goes. I have more faith in these lights than some ;)

Scape looks better when you can see it from more angles with a realistic depth perception. I'm satisfied with it. Plus I got my hands dirty.

Bent glass. Love it or hate it.

Cool. Hey I'm gonna take your advice about the wrasse I thought about it and I don't want to take any chances. I just hope that she will be happy in my tank. I don't want anyone to be stressed out.

OK so everybody has been demanding an update to this thread so..
Just kidding. nobody demanded an update. But I have one anyway.

added a pair of firefish, cleaner shrimp and some corals. Seriously debating the CUC still. Not whether to have one or not, but what it will consist of. Just dropped the welso and superman shrooms in last night, they need to be placed better. The superman shroom rock will replace the rock it is sitting next to (a decorative piece, not part of the structure). The brain will go just a bit further back in the cave. I also have an orange fungia, a SWEET turbinaria, and a single dendro head waiting for the tank to be totally ready before I put them in (and my warpaint scolly of course). OH and the bubbletip just came with the LR I got for this tank. surprisingly, it hasn't moved even with the wp-25 blasting the tank..

Got a brand spankin' new solid hardwood stand with an espresso finish and sliding doors for my other 29 (the one on the floor). That will either be my frag tank or my QT setup (now it just holds extra LR and soft corals), if it is my frag tank and I get rid of the 40 breeder I'll hang the taotronics over it. Otherwise I have some T5's.

That's pretty much it. Moving the snowflakes over soon, can't decide if the exquisite wrasse will be happy here. I might have to find a home for him if I break down the 40 breeder.

PICS!!

How do you like the wp-25 in that tank? I have been thinking of getting on for my 34 gallon cube but i'm a little afraid it'll be too much flow. Love the scape by the way.

It's too much flow. I might replace it with a weaker powerhead. I wouldn't recommend it for a small cube. It does great in a small (29g) rectangle tank though

Edit: Just look at my sand in the front left corner. I tried several different positions but it still moves the sand any way I place it. And there is plenty of sand on the tank

I figured it'd be too much flow. I have been looking for someones opinion who had one in a similar sized tank.

I got in on the group buy for one of the new wp-25 , its supposed to have 3 settings I'm hoping it works out.

It turned out well , those red mushrooms are great looking , I got some green fuzzy mushrooms a wile back , I can't wait to see them that size.
I had a red one about an inch but my pistol shrimp stole it

what turned out well, my tank? Thanks, but just wait and see how it turns out!
:)
I keep my wp25 on the lowest combination of settings possible. Full
Blast it will slosh water out of a 29 bc.

Does your wp25 have 3 settings ?
I was told the one I would get is 2nd gen , so if its the Sam I'll feel a bit deceived , but its not as if I need it , just wanted something better then my pos aqueon 500 .
I'm sure I could try and swap it out with someone.

Your tank is looking great, I love the rockwork, very similar to what I did in my 28g .hat mushroom rock looks great. Keep the pics coming...

Thanks Dave. I know you have been waiting for this tank to come together for longer than anyone else!

Look what the wp-25 is doing to the sandbed over time. It's gotta go, simply too strong for a 29 BC...

Well.. a 30g rimless just landed in my lap.. so IDK how much more I will put into this tank. I'll put my snowflakes in.. and some duncan and a few more corals and just watch it grow.

Looks like you got some serious tide action from that WP25. Your lucky its not blowing water out of the tank! Tanks still looks great though.
