29g Biocube build

another clown, 3 chromis or a dwarf angel(one or the other), and a yellow watchman goby.

Alot has changed to since i last updated. I upgraded to 24 LEDs built into the hood. Many new Corals have been added. As for fish i have 2 Clarkii's, baby blue hippo(no need to tell me it will grow too large), blue damsel, and a yellow watchman. At the moment my SPS are growing much faster than my LPS or softies(kenya tree excluded). At the meet I will become a member and should be getting a few more corals, which will make the tank fully stocked.

Edit: Alot of the colors aren't portrayed very well in the pics because they are from an iphone. In real life the colors POP much more.

where did you get your led system from and are you using the standard biocube hood with this light or is this the HQI model also what is the led set up of the of your lighting system yah know how many white's, blue's and royal blues and are you running them at 100% or less power levels. I also have a 29 biocube and have been trying to figure out if i am better of going with a plug and play system from Rapid Led or somthing like a unit from Aquaillumination and trying not fry all my corals. i would like to keep the standard hood on the tank.

Thanks

Just get dimming control so you can ramp the LED's up over time. I have the rapidled kit, 20 LED not 24, in my hood. I have 12RB and 8CW and wish I would have gone 4NW and 4CW. Maybe even replace a couple RB with alternate colors. Easy to retro if I get the urge though.

yes the only reason i say 24 is that what come's with the dimmable plug and play kit for the biocube 29. I was thinking of 12cw with 6rb and 6b but changing to a 6cw and 6nw would be a good idea the only part where i start to change my mind is by the time i get done adding there light controllers and dimming controllers to independently adjust the white and blue levels i am getting very close to the price of the AI Solo. ?so not sure what is the better way to go?

Mine is 12 RB and 12 CW. I got it from a place simmilar to rapidled, just can't remember the name. The only complaints i have is that the lights are dim at the very end and corners. I have 80* optics on the middle row of LED(there are three rows). The others have no optics. Also, the color blue does not pop out in my tank. If i added a blue or violet led blue would have popped. Greens, reds, pink, red, and purple really POP. Growth is really good on SPS but all others aren't growing like they should. If i could change anything, i would get a larger heat sink, get red and violet, and not have gotten the dimmable(waste of money unless you have something you can program to chagne the brightness without you having to manually do it).

Tested my water
Calcium 380
Phosphate .25
Nitrate 0
dKH of 8 which I think is really low
