2G Set-Up Thread

Whoa..Stumbled into the wrong thread..LOL..I do agree...I would not cycle my tank with corals..I do admit that im still a newb..But I joined arc to learn and not just buy and kill things..Golden no one here is trying to bust your bubble..They only want to teach you how to do things the right way the first time instead of having to do it all over again..Trust me when I say..Everyone here was all over me like white on rice in a glass of milk on a paper plate in a snow storm when i first joined..But now my tank is starting to come togeither..With the help of everyone here, you can learn quiet a bit..Just take it easy..This hobby requires ALOT of patience

Wooah..Thought dawgdude was mad at me..Had to read that 3 times to understand it..LOL..No being unkind here will get you no where fast..IF it wasnt for arc and all the friends I have made I would have gave up a long time ago..

I am a newbie as well, only 9 weeks into this hobby. I have learned a lot from the folks here and will continue to do so. Patience and listening will go a long way to a successful reef tank!!

can we start a bet on life length of the manderin?? I call 2 months

So can you actualy grow enough pods in a 2 gallon tank, with aireation, liverock, and macro. To feed a mandrin ? Or where yall just being nice?

No. Read the thread. Starting at aroung post 13 it starts getting addressed.
They were nice though considering the doom of the livestock. OP not so much which is probably what led to him being banned

I was told by a lfs that a mandrin neede at least 50 lbs of live rock . How fast do they multiply, and how would you catch them to feed the other tank? My 5.5 hardley has any pods . The neon goby eats all he finds.

Sounds like a healthy neon goby. Rock and rubble transfer is the only easy way to get the pods from one tank to another unless you have a fuge on both or have them plumbed together.
The amount of rock isn't so much the case as the tank being established and having a large number of pods to support a mandarin especially one that may have competition
