30 gallon build.

I'm putting together a 30 gallon and wanting to have the rock protrude above the water line, add some fiddler crabs and mangrove trees.

Has anyone ever set a tank up like this or have one currently set up?

I did that! Filled a 65 breeder peninsula tank past the top with rock. Put a mangrove in a natural hole in the rock. At that time, lighting options were limited for me and the mangrove grew to close to the light and heat killed it.

Cool concept if you can work the kinks out. Maybe don’t put light directly over the mangrove



i didn’t do fiddler crabs but remember my scarlet hermits chillin on the rock above the waterline

I was planning to use led if I can get them working properly. If not I'll keep the t5 fixture. I was also thinking of using the ATO as a kind of waterfall.

That sounds awesome. Id love to see some pictures if you got this going. I had been thinking of adding something cool to my frag tank to brighten it up

So I did this for a while before I tore the tank down. It’s stunk the whole room up
