5gal nano reef lights

I just bought a 5 gallon nano tank because I am down sizing from my 56gal cude reef tank. As for lights on a 5gal reef tank, will the jbj viper clamp on
70w lights work for Sps? The tank's deminsions are 16inL x 8inW x 10inH.

I would personally look into the LED lights, they are cheaper and put out some good light, you can grow SPS with them, there is no heat, its really a win win. I personally have the EvilPar38 12k LED setup and my tank is doing really really well. $92 bucks shipped to my door...

a normal light bulb fixture, i went to target and got a desk lamp for 5 bucks.

Ok. I have some reptile heat lamps laying around,
Would that work?

I believe you will want to remove the metal shroud from the heat lamps if you use them. The LED housing is basically a giant heat sink and you'll take away the ability to cool the LEDs if it's encased in metal (possible lower efficiency and lower life).
