My 6 line has had this buldge on his side for 7 plus months. Ate like there was no tomorrow (good thing because there was no tomorrow for him) through last night (even survived my ich outbreak over the summer). It looks like he couldn't pass his food or has some type of hernia (kidding). What baffles me is how is did so well for close to a year with this lump. Any one have any ideas as to what it is?

Though kind of creepy, I'm with Robb on this one. I'd be interested to see what it looks like.

its not a toomah

but seriously, it could have been a severe intestinal issue or just genetics?? did it develop after you got him or before? Im surprised he kept eating...

go to wetwebmedia.com and email the support staff with pics. They are really good and Bob Fenner even corrosponded with me many times when diagnosing a lump on my porc puffer and other illness related woes. Turned out to be a prolapsed colon.

I will do that. I remember Bob from FAMA. I bought the six line without a lump. He developed it after about 2 months. He behaved and are normally for 8!

Thanks for asking. Everything in the tank is fine. Preparing for my water change today. As you know, my tank is not nearly as populated as most. I am just working on growing out the frags that I bought or was given bythe generous ARC members and sponsor.

This is what Beob Fenner gad to say:

<Mmmm, w/o opening this fish up, looking macroscopically at what/which organs, areas are affected it's hard to assess... but this area is not a part of the gonads, or intestines... I suspect some sort of tumour... Bob
