You guys have any suggestions on how to cover up the nails on the faceplate? I was thinking wood filler but I'm afraid that's going to show up when u stain it. Any help will be appreciated.

OoooHhHhh!! I didn't know they had that. I'll look for it this weekend when I head to home depot or lowes.

Thanks Iceman!

Yeah no problem. A lot of the wood filler now is stain-able. I would just go with a darker stain though.

I was going to stain it dark mahogany. I'm pretty sure thats dark enough but I still don't want the filler to stand out. It's going to be an eye sore and I'll never get over it.

isnt that gonna be a ***** to clean under that ledge where the return pump sits?...looks good though..cant wait to see it stocked

To Nate: yup I just got the acrylic on wed. And got it cut down to size. I'm about to start joining it together. It should be ready for a leak test come Sunday. I want to give it a 24 hour cure time. Although it's not needed. I'd rather be safe then sorry. After that it's bad to the stand.

It shouldn't be too hard since I do have a 6" opening to stick my arm down there. In a pretty small guy so I'll be alright. Worst case, I'll just throw a few snails in there and put the mesh cover that came with my mag drive in the return pump.

Tank is almost ready for cycle. Just have to stain the finish the stand and stain it. Here are a couple of pictures.

Here's the tank just finish last night. Leak testing right now. I'll most likely leave it lime that overnight to make sure.

And here she is filled to the top. Leak test is looking good so far.

More to come soon.
