It’s time for an update! Got sidetracked with the holiday and some guests that came to visit for the week of thanksgiving so progress has been slow. The tank is pretty much ready for water and that should happen in the next couple of days. I’ve decided to go with a black background and that will match the false wall and silicone seams so colors should pop. Here is a teaser pic of the rockwork, this is just 2 pieces of rock (one piece is a 40lb + chunk of Pukani). I have 2 more smaller pieces of live rock in a tank currently that will be placed on the left side for balance.

Cool. What's the dimensions on the display side? when I first saw the thread I thought the filter compartment would be lengthwise. Seems better the way you did it

The display is 39" x 18" x 20". I came across the idea about 10 years ago when I set up a 150 as a peninsula tank. I have made some lengthwise but the space is almost too narrow to work with. I'll have some pictures of how the filter side is set up down the road.
Time for an update...Tank has cycled and an extensive clean-up crew has been added. A pair of black Percs, a yellow coris wrasse and a blue damsel so far for livestock (not counting the urchins and several starfish). Here is a couple of pics of the rockwork and just after I started cycling. I’ll get some current pics up soon. I have been busy setting up a dozen freshly fragged gorgonians.
