So here we go with the canopy. This I built completly from scratch. Its 3/4" oak ply, with red oak trim. I vented the top and left it unattached so I can access the lighting.

Once the main build was done, its was time to put the finishing touches on it, with paint and some fans..

I used wire grommets for an office desk to help contain my wires..

Im running three fans on it. and they are a little loud, but I dont want to run a chiller and I plan on having 3 250w halides hanging over..

well Im hoping the vents in the top will really maximize the convection...but yeah just in case , I im installing two more fans in the sump area with a floor vent across from them..I hope this will do it..

chris...I got the fans from CApp...pretty cheap and reliable, and already wired to AC.

and yeah dawg, worst case, Ill either cut the top open, or Ill buy a chiller

You might want to paint the back of the tank before you fill with water. Looks good so far!

ya know chris, I was going to paint the back but I think I might just get a back drop. I fretting that my paint job will have runs in it or look really crappy....I would regret it everytime I looked at the tank .....
