if i'm understanding you correctly, a large boost of NO3 from zero to 8-12 range brought your corals back from the brink of extinction?

if so, what did you change to maintain higher nitrate level? Did your phosphate also bump then or do you not measure it?

thanks!!

The NO3 did boost the growth.
I use NaNo3
Po4 .... gah... I did test it back a while ago but it wasn't an issue... it was fairly low.
By using NaNo3 I'm not adding "fish poop" which is just digested food.. therefore I feel more in control when raising the level because other elements aren't being added at the same time.

thanks for the info. i added kno3 (stump remover) to mine and noticed a difference going from 0 ppm to 4 ppm. things are still pretty pale after a month so i was considering bumping up to the 10 to 15 range.

Here is the Po4 graph. I did have a jump due to an issue late last year while things were settling. But since then it has been fairly low . By Feb it was almost 0

I should probably start putting my data into my apex also. I just have a huge excel file for it and don't back it up but every few months at best.

The reason I do it is so I can look back. If things do well I can check dates on pics I took then go back to my graphs and see if anything changed from that date on.

And yea I need to update.
